Words formed with the following suffixes are stressed on the second-to-the-last syllable:

1. adjectives ending in -àbile, -ìbile, -évole, -èrrimo, -ógnolo, -ésimo, -fico amàbile, comprensìbile, cedévole
2. adjectives and adverbs ending in -ìssimo bellìssimo, fortissimo
3. nouns ending in -àggine, -ùdine, -ónzolo, -ùcolo, -grafo, -fono, -metro, -logo, -sofo, -filo, -fero, -gero testardàggine, abitùdine, fotògrafo, goniòmetro, psicòlogo,
4. verb forms Third person plural in all tenses and conjugations, with the exception of Indicativo Futuro. First person plural of Congiuntivo Imperfetto. (Please note that some verbs of the first conjugation also have additional forms stressed on the second-to-the-last syllable). pàrlano, vendévano, partìssero, partìssimo
